Bob is an independent airline industry analyst and consultant, founder and principal of R.W. Mann & Company, Inc.  Since 1993, his firm has specialized in identifying, developing and implementing structural improvements to productivity, business processes and profitability. 

Bob has the distinction of having developed, managed and operated the FFP of each of his employers and many consulting clients, programs including AAdvantage, WorldPass, FFB, OnePass, FlightFund, Frecuenta, Asiana Club, LatinPass, Mileage Club, Voyager, Mileage Plan, and Diamond Club.  

He has authored numerous articles on a wide range of issues ranging from loyalty and customer value management, to fuel hedging, fleet planning, network development and ATC system improvements.  

His consulting and expert advisory experience spans more than ninety, top-level engagements with clients on five continents, including a substantial number of repeat assignments and lengthy, on-site systems and business process implementation. 

Recent engagements include aspects of the Delta/Northwest and America West/ US Airways mergers; restructurings of American, Northwest, Continental, Hawaiian, Comair and Mesaba Airlines; developing alliance, Capacity Purchase Agreement and “stand-alone” strategies for a non-US flag airline; developing intellectual property for loyalty and customer value management, revenue enhancement via price and preference discovery and harvesting of consumer surpluses, and reducing operating costs and carbon footprint while improving service quality via enhanced air traffic management techniques.
